4 Day Tour: Ashgabat – Kunya-Urgench – Darvaza – Ashgabat
A compact four-day journey through the highlights of Turkmenistan, combining the marble capital of Ashgabat with the ancient UNESCO monuments of Kunya-Urgench and the legendary Darvaza Gas Crater. You will tour Ashgabat with an English-speaking guide, fly north to the Dashoguz region, and spend an unforgettable night beside the burning 'Door to Hell'. On the return drive you stop at the lesser-known water and mud craters before a final taste of the capital.

DAY BY DAY
Day 1 — Bajgiran Border (Iran) – Arrival in Ashgabat
We meet you at the Bajgiran border with Iran and, after formalities, transfer about 45 km (around one hour) to Ashgabat. Depending on your arrival time you settle into your hotel and enjoy a first orientation walk through the white-marble capital, with dinner at a national restaurant. Overnight in Ashgabat.
Day 2 — Ashgabat City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, begin a guided city tour of Ashgabat with your English-speaking guide. Enjoy lunch at a recommended local restaurant featuring light Turkmen cuisine, then continue exploring the white-marble capital. Dinner is served at the hotel or a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay in Ashgabat.
Day 3 — Dashoguz, Kunya-Urgench & Darvaza Gas Crater
An early 04:00 transfer takes you to the domestic airport for the 06:00 flight to Dashoguz (about 1 hour). After a roughly 90-minute drive you reach Kunya-Urgench for a guided visit to its UNESCO World Heritage monuments, followed by lunch nearby or in Dashoguz. You then drive about 5 hours by private vehicle to the Darvaza area with photo stops, arriving an hour before sunset to witness the golden-hour and after-dark glow of the Darvaza Gas Crater, the 'Door to Hell'. Dinner is served at the camp and you spend the night in a yurt or tent near the crater.
Day 4 — Darvaza – Dashoguz – Shavat Border (Khiva)
After sunrise and breakfast at the Darvaza camp, you drive north to Dashoguz (about 250 km) for lunch. In the afternoon you transfer to the nearby Shavat border crossing (about 80 km) and complete exit formalities into Uzbekistan, with Khiva just across the frontier. End of services at the Shavat border.
