2-Day Turkmenistan Tour: Ashgabat – Darvaza – Iran Border

Spend an unforgettable evening at the crater with dinner and an overnight stay in traditional yurts under the desert sky. On the way back you stop at the bubbling water and mud craters before a final transfer to the Bajgiran border crossing into Iran.
DAY BY DAY
Day 1 — Ashgabat – Darvaza
Early morning arrival at Ashgabat International Airport, followed by a city tour of the white-marble capital with its monuments, museums and bazaars. In the afternoon you depart for Darvaza (271 km, about a 3.5-hour drive on rough roads) and reach the gas crater before sunset. Enjoy dinner at the yurt camp and explore the famous Darvaza Door to Hell by night with your guide. Overnight in traditional yurts or tents near the crater.
Day 2 — Darvaza – Ashgabat – Iran Border
After breakfast at the Darvaza camp, you set off early on the return drive to Ashgabat (271 km, about 3.5 hours), stopping en route to see the water and mud craters. Enjoy some free time in Ashgabat before your transfer to the Bajgiran border crossing for your onward journey into Iran.
